If you live south of the border, you could be excused for not knowing that today was the end of a hard fought campaign to elect a new Scottish Parliament. The BBC (supposedly a non-partisan ‘British’ concern) has devoted more time to the council elections in England and to the Presidential elections in France - and people think I’m ranting when I complain that Scotland is a mere irrelevance to her English neighbour!
Anyway, exit polls suggest that the SNP has secured a small but no less historic majority. The last ballots have been cast and the count is on (if the machines work). Now it’s the hard part - waiting for the results!
Yours for Scotland!
The Scottish National Party (SNP)
